Stephanie Work
Music Historian
Stephanie Work is a fourth-generation Coloradan, born and raised in Fort Collins. After completing her undergraduate degree in music at the University of Denver, Stephanie moved to California for graduate studies in musicology at Claremont University. Happily, she was able to move back to Colorado! She raised two girls and lots of animals, all the while teaching at Aims Community College. Stephanie also works for the Greeley museums as an interpreter and plays violin for the Longmont Symphony Orchestra. She has self-published her dissertation topic in a book called Songs of Silver and Gold; A Short History of Music in Colorado. Excerpts from this book have been presented in Boulder and Fort Collins. In her spare time, Stephanie likes to hike and explore, cook, garden, make music, and crafts. She has two daughters and two grandkids who she loves to spend time with!
